Quaker Voluntary Service (QVS) is a national organization, with Volunteer Houses in Atlanta, Philadelphia and Portland. The house in Portland is supported by programmed and unprogrammed Friends.

For more information on how you can support the work of QVS as part of the West Hills Friends community, please contact Mike Huber or Rebecca Sumner.

Quaker Voluntary Service (QVS) provides young people with a year-long experience of service, community and spiritual practice. Please visit the QVS website for more information on how the program is organized. Maybe you or someone you know would like to apply!

At West Hills Friends, we are committed to supporting the work of QVS in Portland. Having a QVS house in Portland allows us to work with volunteers, donate resources to the house, and be on the frontline for this exciting ministry. Since the QVS House is supported by Friends from both Yearly Meetings in our area, this work also serves to deepen the connections between programmed and unprogrammed Friends in Portland.

If you'd like to help with anything from fundraising to moving furniture, spiritual care to plumbing repairs, please visit this Volunteer Registration Page. You can also use this page to request the newsletter, and updates about QVS!
