Science and faith are not enemies. In fact, some early Quakers were also pioneers in science (especially in the fields of botany and astronomy). Today, some of those who attend West Hills Friends are respected scientists, doctors and engineers.
In part, "Evolution Sunday," allows us -- as people of faith -- to celebrate the wonders and accomplishments of science. In part, it is a day to refute the all-too-common assumption that science and faith are enemies. Whether we are talking about evolution or climate change, we offer living testimony that people of faith embrace the tools of science.
"Evolution Sunday" is celebrated by hundreds of congregations around the world. If you'd like more information about how your spiritual community might be involved, please visit the Clergy Letter Project.
